The North Bay Symphony Society is a non-profit, charitable organization, administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our mission is to enrich, entertain and educate the community through the performance of music. A wealth of volunteer help assists us in carrying out the North Bay Symphony Orchestra, a community-based membership of musicians with varied professions and interests. Most musicians are amateur or semi-professional with assistance as required from professionals in our community and throughout Northeastern Ontario.

For all of us, the symphony is a labour of love and we are aware of the commitment and dedication that makes the NBSO so special. We thank the generous and unwavering support of our subscribers, donors, sponsors, members and volunteers who continue to make the NBSO a leading musical organization.

The North Bay Symphony Society is a registered charity.  Our Charitable registration number is 11905 9301 RR 0001.

The North Bay Symphony Orchestra is a community orchestra. It enriches our community by providing entertainment through our Capitol Centre concerts and many outreach performances, and by providing music education to people of all ages through in-school programs and the Symphony String School.

If you like, you may choose to direct your gift to one of our specific programs such as Music Education, Capacity Development, Youth Concerts, the Gift of Music Program and more. Or, you may prefer to support general NBSO operations, which include music purchase, rehearsal and concert costs, advertising, musicians’ travel, etc.

NBSO is particularly honoured to accept donations that celebrate the life and accomplishments of members of our community. If you would like to recognize someone in this way, please let us know if your gift is ‘In Celebration’ of a particular accomplishment or milestone or ‘In Memory,’ and the name of the person being honoured.

For a donation of $250 or more, Chair Sponsorships are also available. Chair sponsors recognize the dedication of our musical volunteers and help offset some of the costs involved in presenting a symphony concert.

We accept donations through the Capitol Centre Box Office at 705-474-4747.  Leave a message and one of the attendants will return your call within one business day.   We also accept donations by cheque or money order, mailed to North Bay Symphony Society, 150 Main Street East, North Bay, ON  P1B 1A8.
